ATLANTA, GA — May 8, 2025 — Georgia Tech’s Alumni Magazine has spotlighted Paul Goggin (Phys ’91), co-founder of The ABLE Channel, in its Spring 2025 issue for his groundbreaking work at the intersection of media, public health, and purpose-driven storytelling. Featured in the article “From Oscars to Emmys: Georgia Tech Alumni Transform Entertainment,” Goggin is recognized for his leadership in creating accessible, emotionally resonant health programming that’s reshaping how the public engages with critical health issues.

A former physics major with a passion for philosophy and science fiction, Goggin charted an unexpected course from the lab to the lens. Since co-founding The ABLE Channel in 2018, he has led the platform in producing Emmy® nominated and Emmy® winning content that addresses pressing health challenges with clarity and compassion.

“We designed our programs to engage and uplift,” said Goggin. “The Emmy® is nice, but the real goal is helping people.”

Among the channel’s standout projects is Surviving Suicide: Stories of Help and Hope, which won a 2024 Emmy® in the Societal Concerns—Long Form Content category. The six-part series brings to light the lived experiences of individuals impacted by suicide, providing viewers with pathways to understanding, empathy, and healing. The National Alliance on Mental Illness has praised the series as “a program capable of saving lives.”

Georgia Tech’s feature also notes Goggin’s ongoing commitment to content that makes a difference. The ABLE Channel currently has over 30 projects in development, including a second season of Surviving Suicide, a youth mental health initiative, and a multi-part series on diabetes.

“Our mission is to be the place where people can get health information and inspiration,” said Goggin.
