Brian McCourt, CEO of Able, highlights the urgent need for such initiatives:

* 1 in 3 Americans will be disabled before retirement.
The need for credible healthcare content has never been more evident.
Tax-deductible donations will directly support the creation of content aimed at improving healthcare knowledge and outcomes. McCourt stressed the impact of health literacy on individuals and communities: “Social determinants of health start with education and access to credible healthcare content. Able is working to accelerate the production, distribution, and access to healthcare content for those who need it most.”
Citing the CDC, McCourt emphasized the far-reaching implications of low health literacy, including increased hospitalizations, decreased preventive care utilization, and higher healthcare costs. He underscored the role of health literacy in empowering individuals and communities to take control of their health. “We all have a loved one, friend or family member who is living with a health-related condition. In fact, 133 million Americans are living with a chronic health condition or disability. Therefore, the need to produce credible programs to help inform people about their health has never been more urgent.
