Able Channel Earns Third Consecutive Emmy® Nomination for “Forgetting 9/11: The John Crittenden Story”
July 29, 2025
New York, NY — July 29, 2025 — Able Channel, the Emmy award-winning healthcare streaming service, is proud to announce its latest original production, Forgetting 9/11: The John Crittenden Story, has been nominated for another Emmy® Award. This marks Able Channel’s third original series and its third consecutive Emmy® nomination—affirming its commitment to powerful storytelling at the intersection of health and humanity.
Forgetting 9/11 follows the harrowing and inspiring journey of John Crittenden, a survivor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, who has lived with the long-term effects of PTSD. The film offers a rare, deeply human perspective on trauma, survival, and resilience—told through Crittenden’s own words and experiences over the course of 24 years.
“This nomination is a testament to the trust John placed in us to share his story and to the strength of our team who brought it to life with authenticity and care,” said Brian J. McCourt, Director and Producer of the project and CEO of Able Channel. “We are honored to once again be recognized by our peers in television and storytelling, and we are so grateful to John for sharing his historic story about the vulnerability and the strength of the human spirit. John emphasizes the need to destigmatize our mental health needs and normalize treatment and continuous care. The WTC Health fund cannot forget that the 9/11 survivors experience a lifetime of trauma and require ongoing assistance.”
This latest nomination follows Able Channel’s previous Emmy®-nominated programs Surviving Suicide and Together We Are Able, cementing the streamers role as a trusted platform for evidence-based, emotionally resonant health content. With strategic partnerships including Harvard Medical School, Cleveland Clinic, and Ochsner Health, Able Channel continues to lead in the delivery of high-impact, medically vetted storytelling.
Forgetting 9/11: The John Crittenden Story is currently available exclusively on Able Channel, which is accessible at leading hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide, and streaming now on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire.
