New York, NY, October 3, 2022– October is National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month and Able Channel is celebrating by raising awareness about the importance of work for those living and working with disability. Hosted by Paralympic Gold Medal winning swimmer Mallory Weggemann. The program showcases the stories of 10 Americans who have redefined perceptions of what the word Able is all about.

“This program will smash stereotypes and limitations that people may have when it comes to what people are Able to do when living with disabilities.” Said Brian McCourt CEO of Able Channel. The program features the story of world-renowned heart surgeon Dr. Toby Cosgrove former CEO of Cleveland Clinic who lived with undiagnosed dyslexia, and John Kemp who was born needing 4 prosthesis and who later became CEO of Viscardi Center and helped get ADA passed. Also Dick Traum who lost his leg in a car accident and later ran 72 marathons and became the first one legged man to run the NYC Marathon. “These stories are first person accounts of what it’s like to live and succeed in a competitive world.
