July 16, 2024Inspiring New Film to Premiere in AMC Theaters and on Peacock on July 16th
July 16, 2024– Able Channel is thrilled to announce its affiliation with the highly anticipated film “Watershed,” created by the dynamic husband-and-wife team Mallory Weggemann and Jay Snyder. As co-CEOs and co-founders of TFA Group, a social impact agency and production studio, Mallory and Jay have served as producers, writers, and directors on a range of projects, from branded content to documentaries. Their latest endeavor, “Watershed,” is a deeply personal film that aims to inspire and change the narrative around disability and the challenges of IVF.
“We are so proud of our friends Mallory and Jay and the release of their new personal film that will inspire and change the narrative around disability and the challenges of IVF,” said Brian McCourt, CEO of Able Channel. “Able worked with Mallory and Jeremy in the production of our Emmy Nominated program “Together We Are Able” and we are happy to have played a small role in the making of this important film.” Look for “Watershed” in select AMC theaters and streaming on Peacock beginning on July 16th.
About the Filmmakers:
Mallory Weggemann is a multi-time American and World record holder, ESPN ESPY award recipient, and five-time Paralympic medalist. Beyond her illustrious athletic career, Mallory has served as an on-air reporter and host with NBC for the 2018 PyeongChang and 2022 Beijing Paralympic Games. In 2021, she released her memoir, LIMITLESS, and has since built a career as a motivational speaker.
Jay Snyder has a storied career in the sports industry, beginning in market research at the NBA before transitioning to athlete representation. His personal passion for sport and professional career working with brands have given him firsthand insight into the transformative power of sports.
Through their unique personal perspectives and shared passion, Mallory and Jay have built TFA Group. This husband-and-wife duo is dedicated to creating greater representation for individuals with disabilities. For them, it is deeply personal: Mallory was paralyzed at the age of 18, and Jay has witnessed the inequities that still exist for the disability community. They have combined their passion for sport and storytelling to drive the conversation forward.
About “Watershed”:
“Watershed” explores the profound challenges and triumphs associated with disability and IVF, offering an authentic and heartfelt portrayal that resonates with a wide audience. The film’s release marks a significant milestone in advancing the narrative around disability, aiming to foster greater understanding and inclusion.
Mallory and Jay’s commitment to authentic storytelling is evident in their work, as they strive to change societal perceptions and fuel equity for the disability community. Their approach is rooted in the belief that society forms its perceptions based on experiences and surroundings. When one of the largest minority demographics is left out of the conversation, it perpetuates inequity. Through “Watershed,” they aim to bridge this gap and drive meaningful change.
