The Silver Award in the “Health / Awareness & Media Categories / National Awareness Campaign” acknowledges Able Channel’s commitment to fostering awareness on mental health issues at a national level. The Bronze Award in the “Health / Product, Innovation, or Service Categories / Special Projects” recognizes Able Channel’s innovation in creating and executing the “Surviving Suicide” campaign. The special project showcases the channel’s dedication to developing initiatives that make a lasting impact on mental health advocacy.
Able Original Series, “Surviving Suicide – Stories of Help & Hope” has been a groundbreaking effort to share real-life stories of individuals who have personally faced mental health challenges and are now providing hope and resources for others in need. There were nearly 50,000 suicides in the US last year and over 1.3 million suicide attempts.
“We are deeply honored to receive this prestigious honor from the Anthem Awards. These awards belong to the 6 people who shared their very personal stories with us, so that their experiences might reach others who are at risk and offer them the alternatives of hope and help. It is a testament to their courage as well as the dedication of our team in creating such important content. Our hope is that the series also brings about positive change in our society by destigmatizing mental health and the topic of suicide,” said Brian McCourt, CEO at Able Channel. “We would also like to thank the behavioral health team at Cleveland Clinic for also being featured in the program. It was very important that we showed a clinical point of view in response to the stories that were being shared.”
The Anthem Awards are highly competitive, with entries from top media organizations across the nation. Able Channel’s success underscores its leadership in using media as a powerful tool for mental health advocacy. Able Channel expresses gratitude to the Anthem Awards for recognizing the significance of mental health awareness and the impact media can have on fostering a more informed and compassionate society. Other winners this year include Taylor Swift, Matt Damon, Kevin Bacon and Selma Blair among a host of others.
