ABLE CHANNEL WINS FOUR PRESTIGIOUS 2023 TELLY AWARDS FOR NATIONAL TELEVISION BROADCAST OF “TOGETHER WE ARE ABLE”
May 23, 2023New York, NY–May 23, 2023 – Able Channel, a leading streaming service committed to improving health literacy, is thrilled to announce that its groundbreaking program, “Together We Are Able,” has been honored with four esteemed Telly Awards in the categories of Diversity & Inclusion, Social Impact, and Public Interest Television.
The 1 hour special program hosted by Paralympian Mallory Weggemann, aired nationally on CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX and CW affiliates and featured stories of 10 people living with disabilities and the contributions they make to society through their work and their lives.
The Telly Awards, the world’s largest honor for video and television across all screens, has announced its 44th annual winners after a record-breaking year for entries. Winners include some of the most prominent global brands and companies alongside smaller and independent production houses, including Cut+Run, Netflix, Disney Parks, Mediamonks, Paramount, National Geographic Society, and the Able Channel. Able’s triumphant success is a testament to its commitment to highlighting stories that foster both health literacy and social change.
Commenting on this remarkable achievement, Brian McCourt, CEO of Able Channel, expressed gratitude, saying, “We are truly honored to receive these prestigious Telly Awards for ‘Together We Are Able.’ This recognition is a testament to our commitment to broadcasting content that not only entertains but also makes a positive impact on society. We are proud to amplify diverse voices and share stories that inspire unity, inclusivity, and understanding. People with disabilities want to work and have productive lives, but are often overlooked. The numbers don’t lie, 85% unemployment for disabled community, and they want to work and contribute.” Said McCourt. “We are thankful and humbled by those who shared their stories with us and hope that our work together helps advance the hiring of people with diverse abilities, who want to earn paychecks not pity.”
