Paul Murphy joins Able in Making the World Healthier One Story at a Time.
March 26, 2024NEW YORK, NY, — Able Channel, the world’s first streaming service dedicated to health, is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Murphy to its Advisory Committee.
Paul brings over thirty years of non-profit experience to Able Channel. His work with the Housewares Charity Foundation, in collaboration with corporate executives and business leaders from major brands, has raised over $40 million dollars for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation as well as millions of dollars for other organizations including St. Jude’s Research Hospital, the University of Chicago Breast Cancer Laboratory, The Maxi Fund to Cure Juvenile Diabetes, The Race to Erase MS, The American Red Cross, Feeding American, World Central Kitchen, and No Kid Hungry among others.
Throughout his non-profit career, Paul has raised more than $100 million dollars including $30+ million dollars for disability organizations.
“The opportunities for advancing health-related initiatives through Able Channel directed content are tremendous”, Paul shared. “Non-profit organizations can now use the power of Able Channel, through the Able/Impact fund to produce donor driven content, created by award winning storytellers, in promoting their missions to massive audiences and markets.”
“Through donor participation, organizations can now deliver compelling and powerful media-generated engagement strategies and solutions to their clients suffering from long-term and deadly diseases; and the Able Channel can do this at a scale previously unheard of,” said Paul.
“Throughout my career in public relations, publishing, and development, I have seen the power that mass media storytelling has on sales of health, medical and consumer products. I am excited to bring my experience to the Able Channel/Impact Fund to help expand its reach and bring hope and healing to the 133 million individuals facing chronic health conditions, disabilities, and mental health challenges.”
Brian McCourt CEO of Able Channel said, “I have known and worked with Paul for nearly 30 years and have seen first-hand the impact of his work in fundraising and business development. Paul’s efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of people living with disabilities and healthcare challenges. We are very fortunate to have Paul on our Able team.”
Able Channel, available on AppleTV, Amazon, and ROKU, has recently been nominated for an Emmy Award for its series highlighting the lives of people living with disabilities. This recognition underscores the channel’s commitment to creating impactful content that resonates with audiences while promoting inclusivity and diversity.
“Paul is going to help us grow our connectivity to non-profits as well as for profit ventures that can help amplify our programming. Specifically, Paul will be helping us with the Able Impact Fund as well as strategic relationships in retail and direct to consumer applications for Able.” Said McCourt.
